Pets of the Future: Miniature Cows and Dats
You heard it here first: the hot pet of 2028 is the hybrid dog/cat, or dat. Future Update: Humorous Headlines of Tomorrow says that Dats "combine the dog's outgoing, loving personality with the cat's ability to use a litter box. This eliminates the need for dog owners to get up at the crack of dawn, and rush home after work, to take their pets out for walks" . . . Further proof that Americans are psycho about their pets: Here come Dexter cows--a miniature Irish mountain breed that only grows to be as tall as a German shepherd and provides up to 16 pints of milk a day (via Boing Boing). They're cute too, with their short little legs! . . . Freshome covers furniture that doubles as hideaways for pets: "Your dog can nap right next to the couch in your living
room." Watch your guests' surprise as your dog suddenly walks out of the coffee table . . . PetDoc is doing a series of interviews with pet bloggers. First up is Johann of Raise a Green Dog, who says his readers' top concerns are dog food safety, dog toy safety, and general environment information. "Secretly I think they also love it when I talk about how to get rid of the doo," he says. PetDoc also has information on how you can file a claim in the pet food settlement.
