Blackberry Storms Apple's iPhone 3G
"Another week, another new touch-screen phone," writes Technologizer. The just-launched Blackberry Storm of course will be measured against Apple's iPhone 3G--both offer phone calling, mobile browsing, document editing, music, camera, GPS capability, and more--but Technologizer highlights the differences: Storm has wireless synching, Verizon as a telecom carrier, and is a world phone. Adds Engadget: its color screen has "a unique clickable surface so that the entire thing can be pressed downwards--just like a real button." As Crenk puts it: "Less touchy and more pushy." Early reviewers dig the press-downy feel of the Crackberry's first touchscreen, which engineers at Blackberry-maker RIM called the Apple killer. "It's a unique and finely tuned sensation, and I liked it, but I could definitely see people loathing it," says Gizmodo. The Boy Genius Report has a viral video (made by Verizon) of wowed pedestrians feeling it for the first time, though the site reports they were all paid $20 for their appearances.
