Twilight Fans Get a New Book, Freak Out
Twilight fans, get your Amazon pre-orders in now: Stephenie Meyer is about to release her first book in almost 2 years, a novella called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. On her website, Stephenie Meyer describes the new book: "This story was something that I worked on off and on for a while, just for fun, in between the times I was writing or editing other Twilight novels. ... [Bree's] story is a nice complement to Eclipse; it explains a lot of the things that Bella never knew." $1 will be donated to the Red Cross for each copy bought, and fans can also read it online for free from June 7 until July 5 here. Following the announcement of the new title, Letters to Twilight posts a stern, long note to Stephenie Meyer--the gist: "No one cares about Bree, do NOT write any more novellas about minor characters, FINISH MIDNIGHT SUN, then give us Honeymoon Edward. Is it really too much to ask??" But Pure Imagination is really excited: "This has totally made my day! I actually Tweeted this morning that it was time to get started on plans for Twilight Takeover(starting June 1!) This makes it even more exciting...Are you as excited as me? Probably not lol. I can't even breath! I am Excited beyond belief!!!"
“It’s that next quick fix of Twilight that fans need, and I’m sure I will read it so I can find out who the heck Bree was and what’s so important that she has her own novella,” writes Eternal Moonshine of a Daydreaming Mind. “BUT, my real—and most important—question is, will Edward be in this book?”
