Modernist Thanksgiving Feasts and More
Thanksgiving is coming, and food bloggers are cooking up new ways to celebrate. Modernist Cuisine has a Modernist Thanksgiving turkey wing cooked sous vide (right). Diner's Journal has a "simple how-to on brining" a turkey and will be running a "Thanksgiving Help Line" at the blog starting on Wednesday afternoon. The Hop Press has tons of beer suggestions for Thanksgiving dinner, including "pre-meal" beers, and Food and Wino has top wine picks. Eat Drink Better has favorite vegetarian Thanksgiving recipes. Macheesmo makes Thanksgiving toffee--with herbs like rosemary, thyme, and sage (hmm). And Civil Eats has 10 tips for a sustainable Thanksgiving: For instance, "Help to keep our food chain diverse and support local culinary traditions by consuming nearly-forgotten endangered beauties like the Wilson Popenoe Avocado, Hauer Pippin Apple and Algonquin Squash." Finally, HuffPo notes that Google's logo showcases "Thanksgiving recipes by author and chef Ina Garten. Clicking on the Google logo takes users to a landing page featuring six 'simple yet delicious recipes'."
