Google Instant Knows What You Want
Google rolled out Google Instant, which completes what you're typing before you've typed it and "saves the average searcher two to five seconds per search" (via the Official Google Blog). Streaming search results change as you type. The Steve Rubel Stream says Google Instant will make SEO irrelevant: "Google Instant means no one will see the same web anymore, making optimizing it virtually impossible. Real-time feedback will change and personalize people's search behaviors." "Type 'god', and your instant search results won't be for religion. They'll be for GoDaddy -- unless you hit the enter key after typing 'god,'" notes Domain Name Wire. "My experiments with Instant Search indicate that the suggestions have a definite commercial bias," says Efficient Frontier Insights. "Branded words are preferred over generic terms despite Google's own Trends data showing much lower traffic on the branded words." Meanwhile...
