Best Super Bowl Ads 2010
If you watch the Super Bowl for the ads, don't be embarrassed: "discussing--and dissecting--our favorite Super Bowl ads is almost as time-honored an American tradition as watching the game itself, except that it's more inclusive!" proclaims Mediaite. USA Today's Ad Meter ranks the most popular ads, based on viewer opinion. The #1 ad was by Snickers: "Betty (and Abe Vigoda) finished at the top with an AdMeter rating of 8.68," reports Lost Remote. "A close second was the Doritos dog 'shock collar' advertisement, with the house built of Bud Light coming in third." GEN WOW notes that "[l]ast year, Snickers faced scorn for an ad deemed as homophobic. This year, ageism helped them score top spot...The pitch: You're like a weak old person until you eat candy. Okay, so maybe it's not that ageist--the spot is fun and Betty White and Abe Vigoda are a hoot."
LOST Season 6 Premiere: Wow! (and Spoilers)
Fans and bloggers have one word about last night's episode of Lost, the premiere of Season 6: WOW. "Well, it's back! And back in full force, I might add--I loved the season premiere, though I had a lingering sadness throughout the episode that this was the last LOST season premiere I'd ever watch!" says S. Krishna's Books. "Was anyone expecting Lost to evolve into two parallel universes because of the bomb exploding? I am in geek nirvana," raves Eye of Polyphemus. "Hot damn, that was fun," says What's Alan Watching? Not only did I watch the entire two-hour premiere, but I'd been tuned in for the hour-long recap that aired before, leaving me harumphing for most of last night while I drank wine and pretended not to be riveted," says PostBourgie. Monkey See reviews some of the questions the episode answers--and others it raised. And of course, beware the spoilers!
