Kanye West Twitter Fest
"Ever since Kanye West joined Twitter this summer, his tweets have been worth keeping an eye on," says Bri's Cheese & Sleaze. So what has Mr. West been up to? Well, over the weekend he finally got around to apologizing to Taylor Swift for interrupting her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs, "over the course of an hour and a half and 78 tweets" (via I Can Has Internets). "His running theme was self-awareness ('It is distasteful to cut people off as a general rule....What's the point of dressing tastefully if I'm going to act the complete opposite?') and retribution ('I've hurt, I've bled, I've learned. I only want to do good. I am passionate I am human I am real....I wish I could talk to every hater face to face and change there a opinion of me one conversation at a time')," sums up PopEater. "Obvs, the fact that the VMA's are coming up on Sunday the 12th means that he knows that we're wondering if he's going to go banana split up on stage again," says Etidbits.com. ...
$99 Apple TV, New iPod... and Coldplay
Tons of news from Apple's live-streaming press conference today--New iPod Shuffle and iPod Touch; iTunes 10 with social media sharing service Ping; new streaming-only, $99 Apple TV with Netflix and $0.99 episode rentals (via The Unofficial Apple Weblog, CrunchGear, and Gizmodo). "Jobs called the Netflix interface on Apple TV 'the best implementation of Netflix yet,' though he was probably saying that because the interface is a direct ripoff of Apple's Front Row interface," comments NewTeeVee. "I should point out that there's already a well-developed product on the market that not only competes directly with the new Apple TV, but in many ways, is vastly superior: The Roku," says TechCrunch. gdgt takes note of the Coldplay performance at the end of the press conference: "I'm just glad Chris Martin's here to capture our sadness over the continuing lack of apps on the Apple TV." Engadget gets their hands on a new iPod Touch and says "it makes the iPhone 4 look... fat."
